Just a short while back, internet marketing companies were separating social media optimization (SMO) from search engine optimization (SEO). Different coined terms such as viral marketing were popping up and gaining big-time steam. When you look at SMO critically it is an integral part of a search marketing campaign. Social media optimization builds traffic sources toward your site and gives it a kick start while organic rankings are moving up. Then consequently, SMO builds critical back links that reinforce SEO efforts. So my point, short and sweet, is that when you entertain offers from Internet Marketing Firms, shy away from those charge you exponentially for SMO and instead ask them how they incorporate social media in their SEO packages. I will now step down from my soapbox.
